Ask your husband where he bought them. Tell him that you loved them so much and you feel awful about dropping them, so that you want to replace them with your own money. Your husband may offer to replace them for you when he realizes how much you truly appreciated them, but if not, you can buy another pair as his gift to you. And your husband is right...you were very lucky not to be hurt and that is what is most important! And unless you deliberately smashed them (in that case you need some anger management sessions for Christmas), your husband knows that accidents do happen (especially with gl) and he won't hate you over some broken gl!
