Audio Recording Handheld Devices?

Okay. I know its more than "frowned upon", but I record shows/cabarets I go to on Broadway/West End - mainly the latter. I use my Blackberry but the sound quality is not the best. Are there any good audio recording machines that are subtle, record flawlessly and not over �40. Thanks
