Child has recurring blood work done, showing AST, ALT, SED RATE & BUN/CREAT RATIO high? What could this mean?

OMG go see a different doc immediately. Normal BUN levels are 5-13 and for a child to have a 40 needs immediate attention how dare that doctor tell u that u need to wait 3 months. A high BUN means that there is something wrong with the filtration in her kidneys and if you wait any longer she may go into acute renal failure (which is reversible if there is immediate attention). Try giving your daughter fluids over 6 hours and measure how much you give her then measure her output and make her pee in a cup or cylinder that is marked. If she pees less than 30 mL per hour then she is retaining fluid and her kidneys are not working properly. SED rate are a certain group of WBC's in the beginning stages if there is a high SED rate then it is probably because she is developing an infection somewhere. AST and ALT means that there is a liver function problem maybe an infection. She needs to be referred to a renal doctor ASAP. I see my patients with BUN values this high and they are in kidney failure or have diabetes, or congestive heart failure. Please dont wait go see another doctor
