Why cant i load purchased songs from itunes n to my ipod?

I have a couple of CDs and i loaded them on to my computer then IPOD no problem, but i bought some songs off i tunes and im not allowed to load them on to my ipod, it says i dont have the authorization. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
